Please view the instructions below for more details on how to upgrade to PLUS.
If you have already filed your 2018 tax return using the Free Edition without PLUS, then you need to upgrade to PLUS and pay first to access your prior year return. Please follow the instructions below:
Login to TurboTax.com
On the Tax Home screen click "show" to see all your tax returns & documents.
Under 2018 click on "Add a State." (We are not actually adding a state, but need to get back to the page to upgrade to PLUS.)
Click "upgrade" on from the left menu. (If it is greyed out, you already upgraded and can close out of there.)
Now, click on "Tax Tools" from the left menu.
Click "Print Center."
Select "Print This year's Return." (Not Prior year's return or you will get knocked out of the return.)
Click "Pay Now" to pay for PLUS to access the prior year's return.
If you have not already filed your 2018 tax return, please click on the link below for more instructions.

I do not have an option to add a state, it says changes can not be made past October 15th. I tried calling support but I have to upgrade to Plus to speak with a representative... about upgrading to Plus. Please help, this is time sensitive for a loan application.

You will not be able to upgrade to the Plus edition for tax year 2018 since the TurboTax online editions for 2018 have closed to make way for the 2019 online editions. Once the 2019 online editions become available in December, at that time you can start a 2019 return and upgrade to Plus.
You can also get free transcripts of your federal return from the IRS - http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript
Or contact TurboTax support during business hours and see if there are any other options available for accessing a prior year online tax return.
Support is open from 5am to 5pm Pacific time, Monday thru Friday

this system is a heinous joke. We paid you to do our taxes. Two years later, you grift us to purchase some bogus UPGRADE, that is insult to injury because the process to "upgrade" is such a joke it can't be figured out. How many SW engineers do you have there? Your horrible.
@nockee In a couple of days when online software for 2019 opens, you will also be able to get PLUS in order to access old returns. Online opens on December 4. PLUS has been unavailable during the transition from 2018 to 2019.
To avoid the problem you are having--every year before mid-October--print yourself a copy of your tax return, save it as a tax file and as a pdf. Then you can get to it anytime you need it.
Is plus available to "upgrade" for just so I can download one tax form?

The 2019 online editions are available so you can start a 2019 tax return using the Free edition then upgrade and pay for Plus so that you can access the prior year online tax returns - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/
