    You can start right here.

    • What is the problem?
    • Are you in TurboTax Online, or are you on Desktop?
    • What version, or product are you in?
    • What section are you trying to post?
    • What are the details of your problem or calculation error?

Please contact us again with additional details.

form 1116 will not properly fill out.

the step by step only pulls the first country listed from the 1099.  it leaves income blank for any other countries

If you're taking a Foreign Tax Credit for tax paid on a 1099-Div or 1099-Int, when you enter the amount of Foreign Tax paid in those entries, the tax amount is automatically transferred to the Foreign Tax Credit section for you.

Then, when you go into that section, all you need to add is the amount of foreign income associated with that tax, and the country.  If your Foreign Tax was paid on a 1099 and the income was from several countries, you can add all the foreign income together and use country 'RIC' in one entry, so you don't need to enter each individual country's income separately.

Here's more info on Claiming the Foreign Tax Credit.

TurboTax Deluxe 2025 desktop for Mac. There appears to be an error on the Tax Payments Worksheet 2025, Line 22.  Line 22 asks for "2024 estimated tax paid after 12/31/2024".  TurboTax is entering the State amount actually paid in 2024, not the tax paid after 12/31/2024.  This amount is coming from form Federal Carryover Worksheet under "2024 State Estimates Information" column (c) and "2024 State and Local Income Tax Information" column (c).

I am using the 2025 Premiere Turbo Tax product. When I looked at my Schedule A deductions, I noticed that there was a large State Tax deduction even though I had not entered any income yet. Upon further review of the tax payment worksheet, I saw line 22 indicating that I made 2024 estimated tax payments in 2025. I looked at my 2024 return and all estimated payments were in 2024. Somehow Turbo Tax carried over all 2024 payments as if they were paid in 2025. This appears to be an error that needs to be corrected for Schedule A to calculate the correct amount. Thank you.

If Line 22 on the Tax Payment Worksheet shows an amount, check your Federal Carryover Worksheet to see if that amount also shows under State Estimates.

If it is incorrect, you can delete the amount on the Federal Carryover Worksheet (or the entire form, if there are no other entries).

Fourth quarter estimated payments for 2024 are often made in January 2025, so this could be the amount you see, if this applies to you.

    • I'm doing my 2025 taxes in Turbo Tax Premier desktop. Currently working on RRB 112.099's. In the 1099R section, it asks for Medicare premium total from box 12. My 1099R Medicare Premium Total is in box 11 and the RRB form 1099R does not even have a box 12. This seems like it could cause a major problem with the IRS.

Under Additional taxes and repayments (in Miscellaneous Tax Forms), in Excess ABLE account contribution is the statement "If more than $18,000 was contributed to an ABLE account this year, enter the amount of the excess contribution..."

The correct maximum ABLE account contribution limit in 2025 was $19,000 - not $18,000.  Please fix this.

Using the desktop Turbotax Business for a trust (form 1041) with a single beneficiary.  There is a disagreement between the value for line 4a on the Form K1 (long term gain distributed to the beneficiary) and the value in line 18a column 1 on the Schedule D.  These two values should be equal, and the difference between the total long term gain for the trust and the amount distributed to the beneficiary should show in line 18a column 2 (Turbotax initally sets this to zero).  The effect of this error is that the schedule D tax calculation is wrong, effectively treating the trust's share of the capital gain as ordinary income.  Turbotax allows you to manually correct the value in line 18a column1 and set it equal to the value from the K1.  After making this change, schedule D is correct, but then Turbotax changes the values in the K1, making them incorrect.

It appears the error can be traced to the worksheet "Distributable Income for Schedule(s) K-1".  Line 4 in this worksheet is the distributable income from Net long-term capital gain, and the explanation on that line says "(Schedule D, line 18a, column(1))."  Note that column(1) of line 18a in schedule D is the amount distributED to the beneficiary, not the amount distributABLE.  The value for this line in the worksheet should be set equal to the amount in column(3) of line 18a in Schedule D, not column(1).  Fortunately, Turbotax allows you to override this worksheet value as well.  So if you manually set this worksheet value equal to line 18a, column(3) in schedule D, and then manually set the value in Schedule D, line 18a, column(1) equal to the amount of capital gain distributed from the K1, then it appears everything is correct.  Note that I am not a tax expert, so I recommend anyone facing this issue wait for confirmation from Turbotax.

Start here? Where? Why is there not an easy way to simply report a bug????

Here's my bug. I get an error reviewing my WI state return. It says I've marked my refund to be handled via direct deposit and that it's not valid for filing on paper. This is incorrect no matter how I file, and I intend to e-file in any case. I haven't told TT how I want to file yet, but it appears I can't move forward.

I am using the TurboTax Deluxe desktop edition

When I enter my 1099-NEC, the income amount entered is not appearing on the Your 2025 Income Summary screen, but it is appearing on Schedule C.

You might want to call TTax and report the problem. 800-446-8848 (restored).

I did this and waited on hold a while, then got an operator who was not so good, but transferred me to one who was not much better, and then I got a fast busy signal and later an email that the ticket was closed!

So - later in the day I called again, waited 30 minutes, and got a GREAT operator who did a screen share and who totally understood my explanation of the bug (1099-R w/d ignored if no RMD required for this IRA, so penalty generated) and said I was the first to report it.

Will it get fixed?  Who know, or knows when, but I have a workaround.

While using TurboTax Deluxe, I was importing income from Fidelity.com for a Roth Conversion and the import worked fine for my Federal return but upon starting my Alabama State return, the taxable income was double-counted thus a software error.  I contacted your Expert rep via text message and was told to send a message to turbotax.intuit.com/support conveying that a sofware error exists.  We were able to confirm that my Federal income in accurate but NOT accurate in the State return as confirmed via Form 40.  A software correction is needed.  Thanks!

I found an error in the Turbo Tax calculation for state filing for 2025.

Oklahoma is supposed to not count military pay as taxable. I enter the military pay but I'm taxed as if it is taxable. So I end up owing a large amount to the state.

    My issue:

I made $3K in non-military pay (taxable income), and about $50K in military pay (non-taxable income). Turbo Tax is telling me I owe the state of Oklahoma over $1700 in state taxes (over 50% of my taxable income). That doesn't make sense and its not logical.  I entered it as military pay, but Turbo Tax is mistakenly counting it as taxable income. The only way I can get around it is to deduct the $50K in military pay from my total income for the state (basically not report it on the state filings). It makes me think that in past years I've been overpaying the state taxes.

    It worked in part, but...

It deleted the item that I was trying to delete, but it added an "Untitled" at the bottom of the list. I tried following the same procedure to delete that item (deleting the blank form), but it repopulates the list with it each time when I go back to it.

Bug with 2025 TurboTax Premier 2025 (Windows):

The 1099-Q Distribution Information has an error stating the "Your box 1 gross distributions must equal the sum of the earnings and the basis amounts.  Make any necessary corrections here."   Box 1 = $444.43 Box2 =$158.09 Box3 = $286.34.  Box 1 does equal Box 2 + Box 3.  I think this isa bug in the software.  It won't let me press continue.  I'm stuck.  Please help!
