How do I file exempt?

I completed the w4 forms and I am currently working on the Navy Base in Guatanamo Bay Cuba.  I need to know how do I file my return exempt?

It's been a long time, but I think on form 1040 or 1040-EZ there should be a box to check to denote your exempt status.

You do not file a return exempt. You indicate your exempt status on the W4 so they won't deduct federal income tax from your pay. You may pay the price though when you file your return if you didn't have enough taxes withheld on your pay.
