If you are a nonresident alien, you cannot use TurboTax to file your tax return.
If you are a U.S. citizen or resident alien, the mailing address that you enter in your tax return has to be your current address. That might not be the same as where you lived in 2018. If your current address is not in the U.S., delete all the address information that you entered. Just above the space for street address there is a pull-down list that says "U.S. Address." Click the little arrow to open the list, and select Foreign Address. Then you will be able to enter your current foreign address.
Thanks for the response. I am a US citizen. I did not have a US address at all during 2018. However, when i bought Turbo Tax I used an old address linked to a US credit card and bought Max protection. It appears I can not file my return under Max protection whilst I have a foreign address. So I am wondering how I can drop the Max protection (not a refund, just cancel it) after purchase so I can file.
"ShippingInfoModel" Error When Paying For TurboTax Online
Workaround
This is caused when the MAX bundle is in the order and there are issues with the information entered in the Personal Info section. This can happen in the following situations:
This can be resolved by temporarily changing your information under Personal Info, then changing it back before filing your return. If you have a foreign address, enter the U.S. billing address for the card you're trying to use. If you have only one letter as your first name, change this to your full first name, as shown on your social security card.
If you've followed the above steps and you continue to get the error message, it can be resolved by removing the MAX Benefits from your order, which will allow you to file.
Note: If you choose to remove the MAX bundle and file, you will not be able to order it later.
