TT Biz 2023 v023. 000. 0207 today... still no improvement
QB 2021 Premier v31.0.4016.0
HAS ANYONE WITH QB (Any version) 2021 Successfully imported to TT (H&B or BIZ) 2023??
While the TT software Clears Says that it supports 2021 through 2024 (NO NEW PURCHASE REQUIRED) it seems clear now that all QB 2021 Version are no supported.
Is there a way to Trick TT 2023 into accepting QB 2021?
Is there a BUG logged with Development for this issue?
thanks!
p.s. Don't tell me to Buy the new version of QB, and don't tell me to do it manually... those comments are not helpfull of needed.

Don't know if this applies to QB 2021. But for QB 2018 (Desktop Version) you have to EDIT -> PREFERENCES -> INTEGRATED APPLICATIONS and allow other programs to access the QB file. Note that the online version of one program, can not connect to the desktop version of the other program.
Don't know about the Business program but my personal Windows Home & Business under File-Import it says QuickBooks (2022-2024). I think it was updated. But the FAQs still say 2019-2024. The FAQs haven't been updated since November.
Over in the QuickBooks support site, I found this recent one for Desktop QB. It's a long thread but covers the problem.

Thanks Carl,
I did check and see that my QB Preferences do allow 3rd Party Applications. And that Turbo Tax (2022) is still listed there... but there is no entry for TT 2023. I think this means it has not yet successfully connected to QB 2021
Navigation > Edit > Preferences > Integrated Applications > Company Preferences:
Status Unchecked "Don't allow any applications to Access this Company file"
Status Unchecked "Notify the user before running any application whose certificate has expired"
Allow Access = Checked Application Name = TurboTax (2022)
Just a guess, put perhaps you need to update quickbooks? If I recall, I think the option to update the program (not upgrade) is under the HELP drop down.
Thanks Carl,
I am on Auto Update... but have been running the update manually to make sure nothing was missed... as far as i can tell v31.0.4016.0 is the most current version.
There have been no recent updates across the 12 types of updates available.
I do not use Payroll, the 4 associated with Payroll are not selected to Update.
Found this information... it is in the fine print.
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/install-turbotax/
"Data Import: Imports financial data from participating companies; Requires Intuit Account. Quicken and QuickBooks import not available with TurboTax installed on a Mac. Imports from Quicken (2021 and higher) and QuickBooks Desktop (2021 and higher); both Windows only."
I have a Intuit Account. I run on Windows PC's and I Have QuickBooks Desktop 2021 Installed and Running.
UPDATE:
I called TT support again today... no Solution yet.
The support Rep said it is a known issue with no current solution. when i asked if there was a Bug logged, she said she didn't know... but that support Managers were aware of the issue.
As i was on the call i checked for updates, tt no updates still on version 023. 000. 0207
however, QB Premier 2021 had a critical update come through... it didn't bump the version, so we are still at 31.0.4016.0... is there a log someplace of what was updated?
end result is it didn't solve the issue... TT still fails to Import from QB2021
I followed the Advice of the Community to Install QB Enterprise (QBE) 2024 Trial software.
Immediately after install without launching QBE 24, TT Biz 2023 found my QB Premier (QBP) 2021 Files. I did all this while QBP 21 was open. Then i had an issue with Windows Beta UTF-8 character set and had to shut down and Re-boot.
At this point QBP would not load... it kept giving the must reboot to complete install (even after rebooting) the fix was to Launch QBE 24 to the Type of business selection screen... then without making ANY selection, hit the Exit Quickbooks Button!!. After this QBE closed, and QBP opened normally. I verified that TT BIZ 23 could still see the QBP 21 company files. I am curious to see what happens after tax season when i uninstall QBE 24... or did this just buy me 3 more years of TT compatibility?
While this workaround solution works, it is a poor solution to the problem! Intuit should have been able to fix the Bug in the TT (biz & H+B) 2023 software versions.
