When I sell a vacation home in another stated do I need to file a tax return in that state?

If that state has personal income tax, then yes. See Which states don’t have income tax?

The state you live in will give you a credit for the tax you paid to the other state so you are not double taxed.

Thanks. Confirmed Florida does not have a personal income tax.
