Failed to e-file because an update is needed

I tried to e-file but it won't let me because it says I need to update the software (Desktop Deluxe version purchased from Sam's Club). I cannot find the 'online' menu that it mentions anywhere in the software. When I quit the software to go back and try again, I cannot find my return. Please help!

Are you on Windows or Mac?   On Windows Online  is in the black bar that has

File  Edit  View  Tools  Online  Help.   Here’s a screenshot from 2024

On a Mac, simply quit and reopen TurboTax. If there are any updates, you'll be prompted to download them.

OR With your desktop program open, go up to the very top left corner of your Mac screen. Next to the little apple---click on TurboTax and then choose "Check for Updates" from the drop down menu.    Here's an old screen shot, should be in the same place or similar.

Thank you so much! I quit the program, when it restarted, it automatically updated. Now, do you know how I find the return that I was trying to complete? Thanks again!

Go up to the top File tab and Open.  Hopefully it finds it.  Your return ends in  .tax2025.

Find tax files on Mac. You might need to show extensions. I think Mac doesn't show the .tax(year) at the end.
