Error F5695-086

I filed my taxes and both federal and state were rejected. I got Error F5695-086 andwhen I go back into Turbo Tax to go through fixing it says I can't do so until Feb 13th? I am not entirely sure. Is there an update that needs to be fixed or something related to this? Trying to understand the error but it is not very intuitive. I only know it was for energy savings and QMID which I found from the manufacturer of new HVAC system installed this past tax season.

Yes, it is true that you will need to wait to file your return. The current tax year has introduced some strict informational requirements, specifically related to Qualified Manufacturer ID (QMID) numbers for some equipment, as well as statements related to joint occupancy property.

Because of this, the IRS is currently rejecting certain returns with the Form 5695. The IRS is scheduled to begin accepting these returns on February 14, 2026. We recommend waiting until then to resubmit your return to avoid another rejection.
 

On February 14th, please try to resubmit your return.
