EIC Qualification

From what I read on EIC qualifications FAQ while filing taxes, I do qualify. It said you have to make below 16,000, which I did, I do not have a qualifying child but I am above the age of 18 and have been homeless for a year which is a secondary condition for qualifying based on what I read while trying to file. When actually going to that section it said based on my information I would have to be over 25 years old which did not make sense to me because with being homeless you only have to be over 18 regardless of students status as long as you make under the certain amount of money. How can I fix this?

Sorry the EIC rules went back to the old rules.  2021 was special.  Now you have to be 25 if you don't have a dependent.

Oh sorry, I don't know how those extra rules work for homeless etc.   I think they're new.

Okay, but what's confusing is the link you just attached is the one I was referring to that was updated a week ago and has the same information I mentioned that made me believe that I qualified, so is that the old information and for some reason says updated a week ago or is this correct?

That's alright, I am trying to figure it out as well because I do remember it asking me about it last year on my return but I hadn't become homeless until at least a week after filing so I wasn't even thinking about it at the time.
