After submitting taxes, I immediately received an email saying they were rejected.  4 days later the status in my turbo tax program still shows pending.  I called turbo tax support and they said it will eventually catch up and the status will change.   Has anyone else had this issue?  Will turbo tax eventually catch up?  If not, what are my options?

The most accurate way to check the status of your tax return and/or your tax refund is to go to the IRS's Where's My Refund Tool.

 

If your status is truly pending, see our FAQ  regarding What does pending mean.

 

If you return was rejected, there are many different reasons for that. Check out our FAQ to see what you can do to fix your rejected return.

I have received 2 emails saying my taxes were rejected.  When I go into e-file status (expecting them to say rejected) so I can fix the error and resend it, the e-file status shows as pending.  Because of this, I am stuck.  I can't fix the error and refile my taxes.  What can I do?

We do not have an exact timeframe of when your return will switch from pending to rejected. If you would like to speak with someone, please feel free to contact Customer Support.

I know how to fix it and I have contacted customer support twice.  Both times I was told that I would have to wait until it switched from pending to rejected.  It has now been a week, so I don't feel confident that it is going to change over.  What would happen if I just started over and file them again?
