E-filing loop

I am ready to e-file my returns, but somewhere between the Federal return (which is ready to go) and the State return, there is a loop telling me to enter my name, address, ssn, and when I do, it comes right back and tells me that information should not be placed on the CA return but on the Federal return, which is ready to go with the same information.  When I delete the "wrong" information, the state error check comes right back and asks for the same name, address, ssn, which I enter, then it comes back and tells me not to do so.

E-filing loop

Delete the state return and then add it back again. This way perhaps the information will correctly populate in the state return from the federal return.  If using TT Online.

  1. log into Turbo Tax
  2. Go to state in the left pane of your screen and when you get to the status of your state returns, delete California.  After it is deleted, add it back and see if this clears that error.
