e-file transmission error

I got the same thing when trying to submit my taxes at the end.  (Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available.)  Never have had this problem in the past when e-filing w/TurboApp.

I’m from NC too and my Federal went through but not state 3 days in a row

Some NC forms are not yet finalized and available for efiling.   Projected availability date is 2/24/2022, according to the availability tables:

If you wish, you can efile the Federal return now (if all your Fed forms are available) and efile the NC state return later.  To do that, you would need to temporarily change the filing method for the state return and tell TurboTax that you intend to "mail" the state return.  Then when the state forms are available you can switch the method back to efile.

It's possible that there are forms in your Federal and/or state returns that are not yet finalized and ready for efiling.    If you are in NC, then the NC forms are expected to be available 2/24/2022.   If you are in another state, you can check the state forms availability using the state table below.

Im having the same issues as well filing my NC taxes. All my forms are available but I keep getting the same error message “ Tax Year 2021 Transmission unavailable”

I am too from NC and I get the same error. Before I was told my d400 was not ready but then I got an email at 1:25 am yesterday saying it was so now it just tells me "Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available."

The TurboTax email was poorly worded.  It should have indicated that the forms are only available for printing and mailing.

The North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return Form D-400 is not yet available for e-filing.  It is estimated to be available on 02/24/2022

Go to this TurboTax website for North Carolina state forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_nc_online_individual.html

If you want to e-file your federal tax return now then change how you file the NC state return.  This assumes that all of the forms and schedules included in your federal tax return are available for e-filing.

If using the TurboTax online editions click on File on the left side of the online program screen.  On Step 3 of the File section click on Start or Revisit.  Select the button File by Mail.  Then change the filing status of the state return.

After the federal return is e-filed and accepted by the IRS you can e-file the state return when it is available for e-filing.  Just use the same procedure and change the state return back to e-filing.

I get the following error when I go to transmit my returns as well. So does my daughter - I don't think this is a state issue, I think it's a Turbo Tax software issue.

Your transmission didn't go through

We could not e-file your return for the following reason:

Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available.

How long are we supposed to wait for this isue to be resolved?

I tried to Efile and when I get to the part to transmit my return. It says transmission didn't go through. Followed by 2021 transmission is unavailable.  What is going on ?

Okay so I figured it out, but I have good news and bad news. Bad news, NC is negotiating a contract with Turbo tax but so far their date to E-file in NC is February 24th. Good news, YOU CAN STILL FILE YOUR FEDERAL, BUT YOU HAVE TO COME BACK TO FILE YOUR STATE. I literally just went back and filed my federal and it went through. Keep in mind if you don't file your state you will be penalized, but who wants to leave money out there or who wants to pay more money back, either way you have to come back and file your STATE RETURN. Here are the articles I found showing the information about the STATE RETURN delay and dates and such. Hope this helps everyone.

Please don't forget to go back on 2/24/2022 to do the state taxes.

My federal return was submitted and accept January 27th and it said NC wasn’t accepting returns until February 12th. Logged in today to file my state, and got the same error message other are reporting here. Is it a Turbo Tax issue or a NC issue?
