My daughter's electronic 2020 tax year return has rejected twice now with error message IND-031-04. It says that the input AGI from 2019 or self-select PIN does not match. After the first rejection, I double-checked the AGI. I then had her go to the IRS and request an online transcript. The IRS had the exact same number that we input into Turbo Tax for the 2019 AGI so I don't know why it would reject. Possible related issue.......she had to file by mail last year. Her mother (my ex-wife) incorrectly claimed her as a dependent even though she had no right to do so. My daughter was already age 24 last year, worked full-time and received no support from my ex. Supposedly my ex filed an amended return to correct this. This whole thing delayed my daughter ever getting her 2020 stimulus checks from the government (she has yet to get it!) so she did mail her 2019 return in July. And her mailed return AGI does match what the IRS shows on their transcript. So not sure what could be causing this rejection. Some issue with the 5 digit self-select PIN maybe????? Is there something we could do there? Should we just give up and file by mail again?
Thanks

If the return keeps getting rejected, you may need to print it out and mail it in. Follow the instructions in this TurboTax FAQ on how to do so.
Thanks for replying. After waiting about 24 hours w/o getting feedback on this question, I did a little more research on the forum. I found someone who changed the AGI input to zero (0) and it went through. So I thought I would try that and it looks to have worked! No rejection e-mails so far and it's now been 2 days. If that had bombed out, I would have just printed it and mailed it.
Just read another post where this happened even though my AGI matched 2019 as did theirs. TurboTax advice on this is not good if this is the case for you. I followed the other post's internet research and found that putting zero for your AGI remedies this technical issue between TurboTax and the IRS systems. The IRS accepted the filing after two rejections trying to use actual AGI.
