You will be advised what you owe on the payment page.  Please see the link provided above by VolvoGirl on how to review your fees.

Re: E-File paying with a Credit Card

Hello HeatherPLO,

Thank you for your reply. The menu options that are displayed on the link that VolvoGirl provided do not appear on my Premier CD Windows version, so I cannot verify what those charges would be.

Before paying my Federal and State taxes with a Credit Card, is there a regular convenience fee rate that TurboTax charges?

I read on google that TurboTax may charge a convenience fee of 2.49% of the total amount owed for Federal taxes.  I don't know if this information is correct since it did not come from TurboTax. Can you please verify if this information is correct?

I would also like to know what the credit card convenience fee rate is for paying State taxes as well.

Thank you in advance.

Re: E-File paying with a Credit Card

@DA248   I have included a screenshot when paying taxes with a credit card using TurboTax.  The convenience fee is 2.49% as shown at the bottom of the screenshot.

Also, see the fees when paying federal taxes using the processors on the IRS payment website - https://www.irs.gov/payments/pay-your-taxes-by-debit-or-credit-card

Hello DoninGA,

Thank you for your response. Is that 2.49% rate for both Federal and State taxes?

Yes.  If you also pay the state taxes owed by credit card using the TurboTax program the convenience fee would be 2.49%.

However, very few states will accept a credit card payment from a tax return preparation program.  To pay the state taxes owed by CC you would need to go the state department of revenue website.
