Does TurboTax Premier Online come with at least 1 state efile? When you file jointly with a spouse do you only need 1 state efile for the 2 of you?

In the Online web versions Deluxe and above the state is an additional $50.  See prices here, Click on State under price

Are you thinking of the Desktop CD/Download program?  That works different.

No, I was wanting to use the Online version. I saw the $50 additional price but it had an asterisk next to it and I was not sure what that meant. I know that the cd version came with the federal + the state. I thought the online would have been the same.

Are you clear on the price now?  Yes Online and Desktop are different.  Desktop has more features and advantages over the online version.

A Joint return is one return combined for the both of you.  So you only file one federal and one state return.  Unless you need to file in another state like if you moved.
