Does anybody know what it means when your federal refund says $0 after filing? it says my federal and state was accepted, but does that mean I owe taxes&get nothing?

What does it say on your actual Form1040?  If you are getting a refund it is on line 20.  If you owe tax due it is on line 23.

is 1040 form my W-2? &its empty on line 20. but it ends at line 20 there's no line 23. does it mean i don't get a refund if line 20 is empty?

You are looking at the wrong thing.  Your refund is not shown on your W-2.  It is shown on your federal Form 1040.  

Please understand the difference between a W-2 and a Form 1040.

If you do not see a refund on line 20  of your  Form 1040 you are not getting a federal refund.  But what do you mean it ends before line 23?  You are not scrolling down far enough if you are not seeing line 23.

okay I see what you meant I thought w2 was the same as 1040 form thank you! so it has my refund on line 20 and line 23 is blank, what I don't understand is when I go home on my turbo tax app it says Federal refund $0...

Did you somehow click on "amend?"  If you did that it sets it back to zero on the account.

I'm not getting anything that says cancel amend on the upper left corner. I don't have any options really it just says Federal refund $0. just wanna thank you for helping me through this, you really are a lot of help!

and usually in always able to track my refund and they would give me a specific date for when it would be in but it's not giving me an option this year. my federal and state have both already been accepted, I'm so confused.

After your return has been sent, the counter resets back to zero. Depending on which TurboTax product that you used to file your taxes, there would be different ways to check the status.
