Will the download version have What-If? I've purchased the CD version the last 10 years and had read that other versions did not have that feature.

The download will have all the same forms, schedules and worksheets for all the editions, including the What-If worksheet in forms mode.
The Download program is EXACTLY the same Desktop program as the CD. You buy it the same way directly from Turbo Tax or in stores like Costco. When you installed the CD you still had to go online to update it. It's only the method you use to install it. Even when I bought the CD I used the download method to install it.
The confusion people have is that the Online version is NOT the Download program.
The question: Will I be able to install this download on more than one device ? You are wrong about it being the same experience. I never had a problem using the box purchased cd installed on both my desktop and laptop . But one year I tried to download it to my laptop and it would not work if I also had it on my desktop pc."
I am 10000000% NOT wrong that the download experience is different from the CD experience. What we all keep saying is correct. the CD experience HAS BEEN THE DOWNLOAD experience for many years because the CD has done nothing more than launch the downloader. Now to your argument that you had an issue suddenly one year installing on two computers. NOT a download issue. A LICENCING change prohibiting more than one device to be active at once.
CAN you have it installed on MULTIPLE computers? ABSOLUTELY! I do it myself. ONLY one of those computers can be activated at a time. That is the new licensing agreement and has been for a little while now.
Time and again, we all repeat ourselves and are refusing to listen to us.
Your license keys are NOT LOST if you rebuild your computer.
Your license keys ARE stored IN your Intuit Account.
you have to login to your Intuit account to install anyway.
Log into your Intuit account to access your list of available downloads (current and previous years you have purchased) AND the associated keys.
That is blatantly false. I just installed back to 2016 as a test and had zero issues.
I am also upset that you have discontinued the CD for Turbo Tax 2024. With computer problems it is too easy to lose and having a CD is much easier to reload. I have to think whether I will continue using Turbo Tax. I am capable of preparing my return and that of my family without your product but just like the professional look of the end product.
I agree.
No CD no Turbo Tax it's that simple

No CD from any other tax preparation software company. It is that simple.
WELL, I DID PURCHASE THE DOWNLOAD AND IT IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I logged into my account, clicked on "Downloads" and all that is there is a message that says "It looks like you don't have any downloads available." After a week of trying to contact a live person I have finally given up and filed a chargeback for services not provided through American Express. Should a live employee of Intuit read this I would suggest that you contact me at [email address removed] so this can be resolved.
I have been using turbo tax for a very long time. I live in a rural are with poor and sparatic internet service. I can not use a download software product.
So Chomp 15 you are wrong.
the download is not the same as a CD. you are just to niave and incompetent to understand teh boarder turboTax market. Not everyone lives in San Francisco and NYC.
So I will be finding a different software product for my 2024 taxes. It is unfortunate as much of my tax info would have automatically load as it is already on my PC.
if you get poor internet service, how do you get updates that are necessary to file a correct return? The CD is Beta. This means it is the prior year with only a few changes to reflect current year law and forms. Multiple updates are needed to update the forms and calculations
You do realize you are losing customers due to the lack of CD's. As for your its all a download even with the CD you are wrong. I can load the CD without being connected to the internet I can even load the previous years info without the internet. Once my internet does come up turbotax use to tell me it wants to go find updates to the software.
Furhter if the CD was just a link to the download there would be no reason not to produce CD's as soon as the 2024 software was loaded to its commercial space (I.E. the link is available). So once again you are not being honest with your customer base.
How can we trust you with our taxes when we can not trust you to be honest about your corporate profit based decision logic? WELL! Mike?
