I did as you said, i entered my address just as it appears on my credit card billing statement. It was STILL not accepted.
I know how frustrating it can be - the agent from TurboTax told me it is a common issue.I was so disconcerted I started my return on H and R block -not as easy as Turbo Tax
If you still experience the issue, please call Customer Service and tell them you have a "block payment issues, possibly due to billing or an invalid license" and the agent should be able to help you. Here is how you reach customer service: Turbo Tax Customer Service
I CANNOT call turbo tax customer service, i live in the UK.
Hi, It's almost one year after your last message.
Did you finally figure how to pay TT with a credit card for your 2023 taxes? I am asking because I'm afraid the same thing will happen to me for my 2024 taxes as I have moved abroad.
yes I had moved and my new address was on the credit card I finally figured it out
Great! Could you plase tell us how you managed to pay TT while living abroad? That would help a lot of expats here!
Could you please explain what you figured out in order to pay TT from abroad? Thanks a lot!
Sorry I tried to reply earlier but the site said the message was too large. I somehow got them on the phone and we discovered that everything has to be exactly the same with your credit card address and your address on the tax form . It was very time consuming and frustrating.
Thank you for your amswer. So if I still have credit cards with my US address, I should not update my TT return filing with my foreign address and just keep my US address?
Is it not a problem to process federal and state returns as an american abroad and keep using a US address for filing? Or can I enter my foreign address after I have paid with my US address?
yes use your American address and your American credit card make sure the addresses match exactly
Ok. What if I use an american card registered with my foreign address and the same foreign address for my TT filing? Is it going to work as well as long are both foreign addresses the same?
Yes, you can try using that credit card to see if it will work.
