As of today 1/6/2021, according to the IRS, there was an error occurred on their end, where million payments were sent to the wrong accounts and some may not have received their portion. We have been working tirelessly on a solution with the Treasury and the IRS. As a result, our expectation now is that within days the error will be corrected and stimulus payments will begin being deposited into the correct bank accounts. We have also re-confirmed with the IRS that they have all of the correct banking information for our customers.

How can I check on my second stimulus payment
The IRS is not confirming this information so who do we believe???
TurboTax does not receive tax refunds or other payments on behalf of customers. However, we are aware that a number of our customers were affected by a processing error that occurred during the distribution of the second round of payments. Any funds received by any bank that could not be credited to the proper taxpayer were sent back to the IRS, as required by law.
TurboTax has been working with the IRS to ensure that they have the proper information for a second attempt to deposit funds directly into the correct customer bank accounts. We expect this process to be complete within a few days. Any payments not successfully delivered in this second attempt will be mailed no later than January 15, 2021.

We have been working with the IRS as they attempt to resolve the issue for some taxpayers. Information is changing rapidly and therefore we suggest keeping an eye on the following for the most up-to-date information:
So again as I've stated in a previous post. the IRS is not confirming the information TurboTax is putting out. I received an email from TurboTax yesterday saying this problem would be resolved within days. The updated from today on the IRS website still say the status message I am receiving indicates I will not get a payment. So, which is it? On January 4th, the IRS website indicated my deposit was sent to the bank account as the last four digits of my husband's social security number. I received our first payment just fine and nothing has changed. A day later, the payment tool updated to show the status was no longer available and more information was needed. IRS says I won't get my payment.. TurboTax says I will in days. None of these updates are hopeful or consistent. I pay almost $200/year for TurboTax services. If this is not resolved as promised, NO MORE!!!! I called the IRS and after waiting for over 50 minutes, the representative told me TurboTax chose to return funds instead of forwarding on to customers due to banking fees. Someone is lying.
