Can I just file a state return through turbo tax and not my federal return?

I used H&R Block to file federal and RI state returns. I also needed to file a MA return, but H&R was going to charge me an arm and a leg to do so. I want to file my MA state return only through TurboTax. Is this possible? I'm at checkout and haven't seen the option to only file MA state return without also filing the federal return.

 When you use TurboTax the information flows from the federal return to the state return.  You cannot use TT to prepare a "stand alone" state return.  Try going to your state's tax website to see if you can file there.

you'll pay TT an arm and a leg because all the returns would need to be redone including state. you can't e-file state since you didn't use Turbotax to e-file federal.
