No. Tax year 2021 is not over until midnight on December 31. The IRS will not begin to accept 2021 tax returns until late January or even early February.
The tax forms are not ready yet. Your return must be ready to file which will not happen until 1/6 at the earliest. Go to the REVIEW tab to see which forms in your return are incomplete and the estimated dates they will be ready (dates always subject to change) and sign up for the email alerts if you wish.
.
Being in such a hurry to file and get a refund is never a good idea---it leads to filing incorrectly without all of your information and to waiting months to amend mistakes that you should not have made in the first place. Be patient and file correctly when all of your information is in order and the tax forms are ready.
Always print a copy of your completed tax return for your records, and review it carefully before e-Filing.
You will need it if you are audited by the IRS, or to amend if a TurboTax update changes your return or for any other reason,
AND, to find your AGI next year.
And....there is no such thing as "tax year 2020-2021". Each tax year is a separate calendar year. You only enter information from 2021 on a 2021 tax form. If you have information for income you received in 2020, you have to put that on a 2020 tax return form. The online software can only be used for 2021 returns. If you have to prepare a 2020 return you will need to download the software for tax year 2020. We can help you with that if you need it.
Whatever "deadline" you imagine that you have......it is a mistake to file too early. People who rush to file early often make all kinds of mistakes and then spend months having to amend their returns to fix those mistakes. If you e-file before the IRS begins to accept e-files, your return will just sit on a server where you cannot get to it to add any information or make any changes at all. Be patient and wait.
another point. only 2021 tax info goes on the '21 return. tax info for '20 should have gone on that year's return
