Can I automatically import my tax forms from my financial institution?
I have already entered other forms, but now I need to import my tax forms from my financial institution. How can I do this?
Possibly, if the financial institution is an import partner with TurboTax, and if the institution has the forms ready for importing. What kind of forms? 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, etc. Many brokerages won't have 1099-B available until later this month.
It also depends on the product edition you use. Online Deluxe (which you appear to be using) cannot handle 1099-B, capital gains and losses from sales of stocks, bonds, etc.
please note that whatever you import, you are the one responsible for making sure the info was imported accurately and completely.
Thank for the info. I have Turbotax Premier and was able to import the information on interest, dividends, etc. directly from my financial institution. Where in turbotax can I choose that this year? I was taken directly to a page to enter the info myself. I don't see where I can request that it be imported.
You can import interest, dividends, etc. when you go to each investment income in TurboTax. Follow these steps to import:
