I'd like to know why a "Best Answer" was selected before I had resolved my problem? I certainly didn't select any answer as "best."

"Champs" (volunteers), Turbotax employees and Moderators all have the ability to mark an answer as "best" or "solved."  However, I can't tell exactly who approved the previous post.  It could have been someone well-meaning who thought it was solved or it could have been a mistake. Even though a post is marked solved, you can always return and post a reply indicating that it is not solved and asking for clarification or providing details to help us understand your question better, or you can start a new forum post.

We'd love to help you complete your tax return but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?

  • I'm not sue who, or how your question was marked "Best Answer".
  • However, if your question was not resolved, please ask it again.

This doesn't answer how/why my question got marked as best.

As for the original question, I called TurboTax and, after nearly an hour, resolved the issue.
