So, you go to jail if you don't pay taxes and between that you get charged by a private company that you have to choose one. That's just extortion at that point. There should be 0 fees unless they give you direct help from a professional with a degree. That is utter BS to be defending the practice of a govt forcing citizens to pay a third party mafia to pay their taxes that are already overpaid. We all are lending them our money by choice, then they charge us a fee to recover our own money via 3rd party company with no customer service besides call centers in india. Get real. You're right and dont let them gaslight you into thinking that LENDING MONEY for free, somehow, justifies you paying a fee to a third party private company to recover your own money. That's just extortion.

What happens if you DONT pay the fee and taxes? You'll go to jail or have your wages garnished by force or be brought to court. It's a greedy sick country we live in. No other countries with morals or ethics would allow this yet its normalized here as if Turbotax is helping us when they arent.

The govt should take over turbotax like they did TikTok and make it a free service for all. Intuit get call it even for robbing us for years
