Hi All,
I just logged in online to do my 2022 tax return, and found that (for the first time that I recall) I couldn't see running totals of my refund amount or balance owed as I entered various information into TurboTax. Is this an intentional design change? Is there a setting somewhere I can alter so that the running totals will once again show? It is very helpful to me to be able to see how the running totals shift as I enter in my information.
Thank you in advance for any help!

1) First, you have to make sure you are inside your 2022 tax return
Then
2) look at the top left, and if it's not there you should see a ">"
..............click on it to expand the Refund/Balance due $$
ON ...
OFF...
Thank you both so much for responding! But I can't see the little "carrot". The upper left is just a blank line...see screenshot below.
Figured it out! I think it may be some sort of bug. I clicked on "review" along the left hand margin and then magically the refund/balance owed amount showed up (with the ">" sign) so I can collapse if I want.
Thanks again to you both for responding, and I'm leaving this up in case others come across this bug for any reason.
What the heck is "race mode" ???
You have something weird going on but the "Refund-O-Meter" is really not necessary and until you are completely done with the interview it is not even correct/final. You can review the actual return instead if you want to know what the bottom line is ...
Please follow the instructions below to view/preview your tax return before filing.
I figured it out ... that "race mode" had 12 minutes posted and showed you had completed a portion of the interview by the colored bar ... you had completed the INFO section and part of the income section. I have never seen that "meter" before (and cannot possibly see it's worth/purpose) so I have no idea how it showed up but am delighted that clicking on review got rid of it for you.
Racetrack: Wow, a virtually useless bit of wasted programming, hiding important things people actually want to see. Who dreams up this [edit} obfuscating, un-help!
This worked for me as well - thank you and agreed with others on the string that "Race Mode" is an unneeded and unwanted feature.
