Hi there, just providing an update.
I was able to successfully E File my Minnesota state return today , 1/30/25. Looks like TT got there act together and updated their software as they said they would. Thanks, John
Hey John,
Thanks for the update! Would you kindly let us know if it's accepted by MN? I was able to efile the first time but MN rejected it. Trying to avoid a second rejection. Ha! Much appreciated!
Yes, it was accepted about 3 hours later .plus I had forgotten to do my renters credit the first time , I corrected that and cha Ching a few more bucks for me. Hope all goes well for you. John
I was, too! Thanks for the info, John!

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat, and it's Feb 1st! Would love to hear if anyone has found a workaround. e-filed my federal today and hoping that once it's accepted, I'll be able to e-file my MN return!
Federal return has been accepted but still unable to e-file my MN state return. I'll let it breathe for a day (or maybe until Monday) and try again. Very frustrating, and never had this problem in the past!
I can tell you guys that I had an XML error initially when my state return was e filed. This was due to software isson TT side. They updated their software on 1-30, at which point I successfully efiled Mn return .
were your errors XML errors as well, or possibly another type of error? That could be the key the inability to get it accepted. John
Thanks for your thoughts, John. No idea what's going on in my case. TT says that return is all good and ready to file. It's when I try to e-file the MN return that it comes back with a screen and says that the return can't be e-filed. Just did my son's taxes this morning and e-filed his fed and MN state without a hitch. My fed return has been accepted, so that shouldn't be holding up the MN return. I'll try daily for a few days and if it doesn't work, I'll just print the forms and snail-mail them, I guess. -Gary
I was able to get mine finally accepted after multiple rejections. The fix was I needed to go to Turbo Tax's settings page and manually delete the MN portion of my return under a section that had a listing of about 10 or so blue link colored line items with a delete link next to them. I had tried deleting the MN return vis their normal page and also the CRP with no luck until I found the setting pages with that link where I could actually remove the whole MN portion of the return. It did throw one error when ready to file that it was able to auto fix After I did that, I was able to refile WITHOUT using my CRP as that was causing an issue with the name/last name field error flagging it for reject. In both reject instances it took a day and a 1/2 to finally get rejected whereas once I got the original deleted and refiled it was accepted within 2 hours. Good luck!
Are you using the desktop TT version or online? In the desktop version, there is no "settings" such as you mention. When I click settings in the menu (desktop) all it gives me is a size slider for text.
J_M_75, so did you end up having to file without your CRP? I am having the exact same issue, I’m getting an error for First and Last name field of Managing Agent on the CRP form. My worry is if I don’t file with it how am I going to then get that refund? It’s not a separate form anymore like it was in the past, so I imagine I’d have to then turn around and file an amended return.
According to the TT website, the updated forms will be available on 2/13/25. If you don't mind waiting, you should be able to efile successfully at that time. Good luck!
Check how your name went on there and make sure it’s right. I found out it put my name wrong on it. Also you can file it separately (don’t file renters property tax refund with turbo tax right now)if you want to file your other taxes for those rebates sooner.
Make sure that there aren’t any spaces before or after first and last names in that field. I had a similar error.
also responding to another’s answer, I was able to file my crp within my state return on 1-30. Minnesota is ready for that. Thanks john
