Any help why I'm unable to transmit my completed and correct Minnesota return is appreciated.

A state tax return can't be e-filed until the federal return has been accepted. The IRS will start accepting e-filed returns on January 27, 2025 at the earliest.  Here is the IRS's announcement of the start of e-filing for 2024: IRS announces Jan. 27 start to 2025 tax filing season

The Minnesota state income tax return forms and schedules for tax year 2024 are estimated to be available for filing on 01/30/2025.

Go to this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...

Some states are not ready for accepting taxes and seems Minnesota is one of them. You have to go back in the program and delete your state and then you can file federal. I just did this and turbo tax is terrible about answering this question and how to do it. I am going to go back this week and see if I can do state and file. I hope this helps otherwise you can wait till MN opens to accept returns. Turbo tax needs to do a better job than having us go through the process and not know what that means or how to fix it when it says something like that!!!!

They said the 27th and it still isn't working.

Yep!!! They took 78 bucks from me also and I can't file supposedly You have to wait until after the 30th so hopefully this is true and I'm able to file or I'm going to need a refund as well lol 🤦‍♀️😡

Turbo tax hasn't released my federal return as we were reviewing the MN state which isn't coming up . So how do I get my federal to be released so I can file it so I can get my state filed

  • I have used TurboTax for years. Last year broke the camels back. I payed extra to have my MN state taxes E-filed, and it kept coming back as unaccepted. Twice I upgraded to get live assistant and still had to send in paper forms. To top it off, I never received a credit back for not being able to E-file This year I started out using TurboTax and ran into the same issue with it stating I couldn't file my MN return at this time. So I switched to the Green Side (another online tax prep company). The fee was about half the price of TurboTax, and Yesterday morning (01/27/25) I awoke to a message saying both my federal and MN state returns were accepted. I'm not sure I'll ever use TurboTax again!

H&R Block seems to be able to do it. Sounds like TurboTax problem. Not a Minnesota problem.

Yes, I have the same issue. TT stated online that the forms were available for print and efile on 1-28-25 but sadly, MN was rejected. It does state a fix will automatically go in on 1-30-25. I might wait an extra day or two before refiling.

It's Jan 30, my federal tax return has been accepted.  If state cannot be filed until fed is accepted,  why can't you just say that,  instead of telling me they're both good to efile, only to have the transmission rejected,  MULTIPLE times?

Why am I still unable to e-file my state (mn) tax return?

Why am I also unable to print any of my returns?  There was a review/print initially,  but it's gone now.  Also I printed my fed at that time,  now I'm seeing something that says I cannot e-file my MN return if I've printed the fed return?

Seriously?

I also get different information if I'm logged into the app on my phone  vs my tablet.  Different again if I log in on the website.

How is that even possible?

That's a lot of questions,  I know,  but you guys are the ones creating the chaos.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
