@wolongjin The TurboTax online editions are only for tax year 2025 and cannot be changed.
If you purchased one of the 2024 online editions, you need to contact TurboTax support. They may be able to push a 2024 desktop editions to your download account at no charge.
Use this phone number and select TurboTax - 1-800-4-INTUIT (1-800-446-8848)
This is different from what I originally learned about using TurboTax Online to amend previous year's tax return.
From this website:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/amend-return/how-to-correct-federal-tax-returns/L67t0F7il
It clearly mentions that "If you used TurboTax Online, simply log in to your account and select “Amend a return that was filed and accepted.”"
Now it seems you want the customers to contact the support line to have a desktop version installed to amend my 2024 year tax return.
In addition, I tried calling Turbotax support multiple times but I can't get connected to a LIVE agent.
The support line said I haven't purchased a product for "current" year that is eligibel to talk to a LIVE agent.
Yea, but I want to talk about my "previous" year tax amend request.
How do I get connected to a live agent for help??
To be clear about my ask, Turbotax should have provided the 'amend' option by using Turbotax Online product directly, instead of asking customers to download the desktop version, because this feature was promised when we purchased the ONLINE product.
Here is the where the 'amend' button is, but it is non-functional.
This is from my 2025 online tax return when asking to amend the 2024 return -
Did you use Turbotax Online last year to file your 2024 tax return?
If not, it won't give you the option of amend ONLINE, which is expected.
The issue that this thread is about is, when people filed the 2024 tax return with Turbotax Online, and now need to amend it, the website's "amend" button does not work (unresponsive).
