When I chose Run as administrator option, it still pop up to enter the license code, no use.
If you are just installing the software, or reinstalling, it will require the license code. If you no longer have the license code, please follow the instructions here to contact us by phone for further assistance. @yuchengtai
No, they want to drive us to their online product — the hard way.
I have entered my activation code three times, so far, even after following all five recommended steps.
I suspect it could be because I had my laptop (which is my main computer) with me in Colorado when I installed and started working on TurboTax this year and am now in Florida. You would think that would require me to re-activate only once...??? If at all!!!!
Been using TurboTax since they started, a long time ago, and am really getting frustrated with this one. Worried I am going to run out of activations before I finish my taxes this year!
Forgot to mention, this is for year 2021.
If you run into the issue of not enough activations, please follow the instructions here to contact us by phone so we can look into this issue. @MaynardK
Do you Intuit people ever bother reading the posts on here? Every solution you offer is the same, and time and time again, you get responses saying that the solutions you offer aren't working. You are horrible at your jobs. But apparently that doesn't matter to your or your company.
Bottom line, the need to re-authorize software after every update (which happens almost every time we open the application) is insane. If we bought the software and installed it, we should be able to use it. You should have a record of when software is installed and registered. There should not be a need to re-authorize software on the same computer...ever. This is basic, and has been the norm ever since personal computers became common among the masses, around 40 YEARS ago. Fix your software.
Absolute right.
Super annoying that I have to locate my license key every time for Turbotax updates. Virtually every other program can remember the license activation, but not Turbotax. Another reason that, next year, after about 30 years, I plan on switching to H&R Block's product.
May be it is a right decision.
2020 will not open without the license code, which I do not have any longer. Using the license code from 2021 does not work. How can I recover the license code or get in without it?
It did not bypass the screen asking for the activation code.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for how to get the license code - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/product-system-requirements/find-license...
Message to Intuit: This is a vexing problem which your support people were not able to resolve over the phone. This is entirely an Intuit/Turbotax issue and it is simply unforgiveable, especially given that I'm not the only one experiencing it. It shows you simply don't care about your customers since this has not been resolved with a software update. Do you realize this is a fatal defect that renders your product completely unusable?
@DaveT-SD What is your situation? This has probably been posted before. Is it asking you to activate again? Make sure your computer is the same way when you originally installed it. Like with no flash drives plugged in or plugged in if one was. It asked me again so I just closed the program and took out a flash drive that was plugged in and tried again. It worked. Or you may need to connect a flash drive or printer or something that was connected when you originally installed the program.
