Today i got my $1200 refund. But me and my friend did tax refund application on same bank account and we have only one $1200 in account. So my question is, are they giving refunds by name or by bank account?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Refunds are issued per person not per account.... however ...
If both your names are not on this used account then the bank will refuse the deposit for the non listed person and the IRS will convert it to a check mailed to the address on that return.
How can i contact them for chaning my bank account? Because im not staying that adress right now and i need that refund in my bank account.
Due to anti fraud preventions DD info cannot be changed once the return is filed.
Steps to take:
1) put in a change of address/forwarding with the post office
2) mail in a change of address form 8822 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8822.pdf
I'm not living in the USA nowadays. Is there any chance to do something online? Cant i send email to them? What if i fill tax return one more time just for IRS TREAS?
I just want to update my bank account information.
No you cannot email them nor can you file a second return ... all you can do is mail in the form 8822.
Whats the fax adress of IRS?
There is no single fax number to the IRS and sadly the form 8822 must be mailed... there is no fax option ... read the instructions : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8822.pdf
2 days ago i sent form 8822 to the IRS office. How can i follow the process? How willl i get my payment? Will they send a check to my country?
It will take weeks to process and release the refund ... all you can do is check the IRS WMR tool weekly :
Okay i'll check it weekly. So how will i get the payment? Im in my own country right now, not USA.
They will mail a check since the DD was not allowed.
thank you!!
