worst case scenario here...Form 8915-F is never supported by TT...would it be possible to add the deferred income as a 1099? Would the taxes owed be the same, whether you include the deferred income on form 8915F or simply another 1099? I've already completed everything and have been waiting for 8915F. Thank you

@APP1NAG Worst case scenario you go somewhere else to file.  You don't file an incorrect return ESPECIALLY when the form you need to us HAS been finalized by the IRS.

You have until 18 Oct with an extension, if you are going to go through all that, just do the calculation, pay the tax before 15 April, and then file your return, correctly, once.

well for starters, I will not owe anything. and going somewhere is not option since I used software... my question was a simple one, is the data on 8915F simply treated as another 1099 ?

I think this has been updated? Says it will be available 3/24/22 now if I'm reading it correctly...

Yes, they moved it to an earlier update.

@macuser_22 I suspect that 03/24/2022 will be the actual date.  I wouldn't expect to see it sooner now.

The form is now available from the IRS but hasn't been loaded into TurboTax. When will it be ready?

Hi Any update on this form?  It says if you file turbo tax will include the form with your return so does that mean I don't need to do anything but file and they will add it or do I need to wait until its available?  I'm confused.

I would like to thank TurboTax for the fine products they offer.

@General Talia and yet the company had sales of $9.633 billion last year ( a little over 4 times more than Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, FIAT and Alfa Romeo combined), big foreheads and all.

I picture a Fortune 500 company providing the best service possible to their customers, despite a pandemic and government stimulus which has led to a nationwide labor shortage.

I trust they are tackling their outstanding tasks in a systematic manner in order to turn the biggest profit possible so they can deliver to their shareholders.

That's what I picture.

The ad hominem attacks and insults cheapen any argument for me, @General Talia. If it were me, I would stick to criticizing actions rather than appearance if I wanted to be taken seriously

@4741628 IMO equally as absurd is viewing a fortune 500 company's annual sales from the prior year to market understanding and performance this year. Also, the programmers and developers probably don't see much of that enormous sales revenue reflected in their salary. I seriously doubt any job of that nature is commission-based.

And lastly, "providing the best service possible to their customers" is objectively incorrect. Instead, the best service that they as a company can provide is a more accurate declaration. It has been proven that other companies can provide better service to customers' needs in regard to the 8915-f form being available to e-file.

All this being said, what I've disputed is only what you picture, which is the same as an opinion. I would simply state your opinion and our reality are on different astral planes :).

Did you get 3/24 from Turbo tax? They have been telling me all sorts of dates. First it was a few weeks ago. Then they said 3/17, then by 3/31 so the 3/24 could be right but I don’t believe them anymore!

This better still be dropping tomorrow!  Have something due on the 25th and this delay is totally hurting me.

Okay I just filed my taxes and I think I made a mistake.  I looked it over and it looked correct with it adding 1/3 of my distribution to my income...but...since covid wasn't available in the drop down menu, i put it in the box that asked for the FEMA number.    After I printed my forms, I noticed, that I was not supposed to do that, and was supposed to check box D saying it was a coronavirus disaster distribution.  Will I have to amend my return??? It seems like all the calculations are correct, but that I just checked the wrong box???  Turbo tax said it was good and the IRS already accepted it, so should i be worried???

If you elected to spread the 2020 distribution over three years then 1/3 of the distribution will have been entered on the federal tax return Form 1040 on either Line 4b or 5b depending on the type of distribution you had in 2020.
