When will 8915-f be available for us to file on turbo tax this year?

The IRS Form 8915-F Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments 2020 for tax year 2023 are not yet finalized in TurboTax.

The form is scheduled to be available in TurboTax on 02/21/2024

Form 8915-F does show as being available on the Form Availability List. However there are some software updates being implement that have resulted in a delay. Please check back after 3/15/2024, update your software if you are in the desktop version of the software, and try to proceed with your return.

March 8. Still can’t file. Are you guys actually working on the issue or just sitting around drinking coffee. I’ve replaced 6 transmissions and rebuilt 3 engines by myself since I last responded late February, yet the thousands of programmers at turbo tax takes 3 months to fix a coding issue?!?! What are you all doing to fix this? And if you respond with the same “check back on blah blah blah” I’m gonna scream. Give us an actual, human answer - what is the problem, and how can I file the form right now that is available by the IRS on TurboTax? Earn that paycheck.

Many federal and state forms are not yet available. Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.

Tax form availability tool,

No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29. And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.

Thank you for replying, but that didn't answer my question.
The form has been approved through IRS, just want to know when Turbotax will have it available. We went through this last year also and it was February. Since it is literally the same form as last year, it shouldn't take until Feb or at least my hope.

Available for you to see online is not the same thing as formatted and approved by the IRS for tax software. Sorry.

I have attempted to file each day since late January and it says 8915F1-T is not yet available. I have attempted to file on the mobile platform as well as 2 different computers it is not a cache problem. Please fix this TurboTax!

Was this a withdrawal due to a 2021, 2022, or 2023 Qualified Disaster?

don't answer yes because if you do- you cant finish your return at turbo tax!!!!!!!!!!!

The form is STILL not showing as ready - it will not let me file. I’m about to switch to another tax service. It’s sad because I have used TurboTax for years. Tell me when the form will be ready or I’m switching permanently. The irs had approved the form, and everytime I call for assistance with TurboTax all you guys do is tell me it’s the IRS’s fault even though I’m convinced this is TurboTax’s fault. Tax Slayer is looking really good right about now!

When will this form be available? “Check back” by 3/8, then 3/15 is not appropriate. I have already paid turbo tax, and it won’t let me file because it states the form is unavailable. Yet, you say it is available. Please elaborate more than “software updates”

Been with turbo tax for years! Can't belive they dropped the ball so bad on this! I have filled out my refund case..... doubt I will see that money again and I will never use them again!

This is horrible by turbo tax. How many people can’t file their taxes because of a messsup by their code? I called IRS and they informed me this document is available at all tax companies and it’s up to tax companies to implement them. So why do we have to wait till March 15 to file? This is a joke right? I been a user of TurboTax for 10 years and this will be the reason why I leave to go to taxact.

Get this fixed turbo tax! Enough is enough
