It depends. You may receive a letter, which are sent out as late as March.. What is important is whether or not you received $4200 or $2100. Please view this IRS link to find out if you received the third payment.
In this link, the IRS specifies that you can find the amount of the third payment, create or view your online account or refer to IRS Notice 1444-C, which we mailed after sending your payment. We’re also sending Letter 6475 through March 2022 confirming the total amount of the third Economic Impact Payment and any plus-up payments you were issued for tax year 2021. You can also securely access your individual tax information with an IRS online account to view your total Economic Impact Payment amounts under the 2021 tax year tab
@MiMi21222 Check your bank statements. 2100 would be half of 4,200. That's is the 3rd Stimulus payment for 3 people (married and 1 dependent). You probably need to enter the full 4,200 and should not have an amount on 1040 line 30.

We received 2 separate letters. Two deposits were made to the indicated checking account. Go back & look at where you expected a deposit.
Was claimed by Mistake as Income? IRS STILL PROCESSING?
Yes
I file a Joint Return and I received my letter Letter6475 in the amount of $1,400.00 and Turbotax states we should receive 2,800.00. My wife did not receive a Letter6475, and when I add $2,800.00 to my 1040-SR, it rejects the total amount. How can I add my wife's $1,400.00?
If TurboTax states that you should get $2,800 and you only received $1,400, then you will select the "No" option and enter $1,400 since you should only enter the amount you received. TurboTax will automatically adjust your refund amount and add the additional $1,400 which your wife did not receive.
However, even though your wife did not receive a Letter 6475 it is very important to be verify with your bank accounts to be sure she did not receive the $1,400. Due to IRS backlogs, it is possible that your wife may have not received the letter but she still may have gotten the $1,400 in her bank account so make sure to check the bank account as well.
The stimulus payments started coming in March of last year so you can double check last years banking statements to be sure your wife did not receive her $1,400 stimulus amounts.
My spouse and I file jointly and each received $1,400 per the IRS letter 6475. In 2021 we have a new adult dependent living with us who also received $1,400. TT is stating that my spouse and I should have recieved an additional $1,400, totalling $4,200, and asks if we (my spouse and I) recieved this amount. I assume the $4,200 amount includes our dependent's $1,400, but that's not clear. Should we select "yes" which would indicate inclusion of our dependent's payment or "no" which would generate a further credit?
@noonfam You should select No. You did not receive the 3rd stimulus payment for the dependent in 2021. If the dependent received the 3rd stimulus payment in 2021 he does not have to repay the payment and you can claim the Recovery Rebate Credit for the dependent on your 2021 tax return.
You would indicate no and receive credit for your new dependent.
If you are claiming them this year then you DO get it now. It is really based on 2021. And they don't have to pay theirs back. The IRS just used 2020 returns to send the checks out fast.
See Question 15 here
Turbo Tax says we are eligible for a third stimulus payment of $2296. Our 6475 letters say $1400 for each of us. Does the $2296 number apply to each of us, or both?
It says, Enter your third round payment as it appears on your letter. Singular. Am I entering $1400 (singular) or $2800 (joint).
Unfortunately, Turbo Tax is not very clear on this item.
You enter the total 2800. Looks like your income is high and you only qualify for a lower amount 2296 based on 2021.
But the IRS already sent you the 2800. Good news, you don't have to pay any back.
BE SURE YOUR 1040 LINE 30 IS BLANK!!! No amount. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more.
It should be clear. It says does this match for you and spouse
Wow, that was fast. Thank you very much.
