5 Filings

Hello,

I bought Turbo Tax Deluxe Desktop.  While I created 5 returns, I have only transmitted 4 to the IRS.  I am trying to send the 5th but it says I have transmitted too many.  I even went so far to buy another edition of TT, thinking I will have another 5 but it is telling me the same thing.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Rich Costa

5 Filings

IF any one was initially rejected for having a name-SSN mismatch...then fixed and e-filed successfully.  Unfortunately, that counts as 2.

Sorry you bothered to buy a second set...the 5 limit is the IRS limit.

Any others you prepare now will have to be printed and filed on paper thru the mail.  Use a tracking method when you mail them...(AND...Always do your own first, before other family members)

Thank you very much for the answer.  I did not though, have any returned due to a wrong ss#?  I did have one returned for wrong AGI.  Would that be the same?

Perhaps...I'm not aware of all the subtle counting procedures.

Yeah, I don't think they should be counted, but maybe there's some background IRS record of filings, failed or not, that the IRS keeps for some reason (like for preventing a scad of multiple filing attempts by criminals), and TTX is stuck counting it as one.
