I know there's a lot of discussion going on regarding the tax credit being for US produced EV's as well as battery mineral composition for 2023 but has anyone heard when form 8936 (EV credit) will be available for 2022? The purchase cutoff date of 8/16/22 for non-US manufactured EVs is pretty solid. What is the IRS waiting for?

The IRS Form 8936 for tax year 2022 is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 01/26/2023 - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...

Its not the IRS, its been available for some time: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8936.pdf
I called TT support and they say it will not be available until Feb 9, 2023. Prior to that it was 1/20, 1/26, 2/02, they keep moving the goalposts. The option is to print out the tax return and e-file yourself or mail it in. I also requested a refund form since TT could not complete my taxes for 2022.
Doing the same myself. They can give me no reason as to why the form is delayed on their end, but available through the IRS. If anything, it concerns me that they're stating "The IRS hasn't finalized one or more of your forms...". That is not an accurate statement.
I did find out that H & R will have theirs ready on February 3rd...
Hello - thank you for that. H&R and TaxAct will both be ready by then. Awaiting the refund for my "deluxe" service - which is anything but deluxe.
I bought on line the turbo tax deluxe, there is no release for a fix of form 8936 and I want to transmit my taxes, I need help.
Thank you

Federal Form 8936 should be available in TurboTax on 02/09/2023. You can see Forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products to watch for updates on the availability.
I'm glad to see a response to this question from an actual TT employee. Today is February 9th, so I hope to see the form published. I have been using TT for almost 20 years without any hitches and hope they continue to provide a solid product. EV car buyers have a lot riding on this tax credit and are anxious to get their forms filed.
Hi Alicia
I appreciate your reply. However when I tried to complete my taxes just a minute ago, the form is still not ready. Instead of a being available like we were promised, it displays the infamous "Ready Soon" lol. Not sure why Intuit has this issue, H&R and TaxAct had theirs ready long ago. Is it possible we can receive a refund or a credit since we all purchased a product that was presumed to be complete?
The form is no longer a DRAFT on the IRS site but still not available in TT. Maybe later today...
The forms on TT will most likely be programmed by EOD today or tomorrow at the latest. This happened last year as well where it took them a day to program it into their platform.
Well its February 9th 2023, and still no form 8936 on Turbo Tax Deluxe. Now they are saying "available soon". Give me a break. I paid for this software and now I'm having to wait weeks to even file my taxes to get my refund if I want to use TurboTax. A big fail on their part.
Okay...
You are correct! I just checked the IRS's website and it's been available since 1/23/23.
This delay is all Turbo Tax.
