I have added a 1099-NEC for my spouse and all the information has been entered, but it still tells me it needs review. It's there in his Schedule C too. I don't want to submit this and not be accepted due to this issue. Is there something I'm missing?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
When you are signed in to your TurboTax account follow the steps below.
Select Wages & Income > Self-employment Income > Review
Select the business where you want to enter your 1099-NEC
Skip import if you choose > Select Form 1099-NEC, new IRS form for nonemployee compensation (replaces 1099-MISC) > Continue
Enter your data from the 1099-NEC
NOTE: You can also choose to enter this as a cash payment of business income by selecting Other self-employed income, which includes 1099-K, cash, and checks (if you choose this, delete the 1099-NEC).
Currently, there is a known issue where the spouse is not connected with the form should this be applicable to your situation.
I selected the 1099-NEC and entered data. It still says needs review. Guess I'm going to have to go with other option, since I have 3 days left.
UGH! I entered payment information as other and it stills says NEEDS REVIEW. What do I do now???
I deleted 1099-NEC & Schedule C and started over. Finally able to get it pushed through. 🙄
This bug is ridiculous.
Trying to do it on the last day. Lost lots of hairs...
Once you input your 1099-NEC, you should answer all of the questions after the input screen so it flows through to your Schedule C. If it has not been assigned, TurboTax will give you an error message.
To assign your 1099-NEC to a Schedule C, please follow the steps below:
