I have a 1099-MISC (2020 taxes) form from some online influencer work I did for about six months in 2020. The income is in the Box 2 Royalties area. I'm trying to enter that 1099 into a Schedule E for royalty income, but every time I try TurboTax tells me I must create a Schedule C and claim it as self-employment income. I didn't think this was a business income as it was listed in the royalties area. HR Block lets me put it in schedule E just fine, but I tend to like using TurboTax better.
Is there a way around this?
Last year I claimed business income and I had a schedule C and schedule E. But this year I have no online business, no business income, or losses as I shut it all down.

STOP trying to enter this in the 1099 entry section ... go to the Sch E section and enter it as income there.

Thank you!
Now that I'm in Schedule E directly, starting with "We'll start with some basic info on your royalty."
It's asking me to enter in the Royalty Nickname and address. Is this my address info or the info from the Payer that provided the 1099-MISC form?
Thanks for the help. I'm just confused as I don't have royalty property, and just did some online random articles and stuff.
Either will do ... it really doesn't matter.
