Purchased Turbo Tax Deluxe. Ad says 5 free Federal Efiles, 1 free State Efile. I am getting charged for my state efiles. Why am I not getting my free state efile?

I too am not getting the free State with my turbo Tax Deluxe  I have been using this same product for years and never have run into this before

@Bonnylee13 We cannot see what software you are using.   If you are using online, federal and state returns are priced separately and you pay for each one.

If you are using the CD/download then the software may have included the program to prepare the state return but there is a fee to e-file the state.  You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead.  That state e-file fee has been in effect with desktop software for years.

Im being charged 45.00...why?

So how is it free?  Download what? I already downloaded the disc I paid alot for.  Im confused! HELP!!!

If you are using Turbo Tax Online, you can review the fees you are being charged by following the instructions here.

@Bonnylee13   It might think you already downloaded the first free state program.  And this is for a different state.  Or you are seeing the Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) to efile the state return.  It is $25 to efile each state return from the Desktop program.  And the extra $45 service charge to have the fee deducted from your federal refund.  So pay the $25 upfront with a credit card and avoid the extra charge.
