Override checkbox

So I had e-filed my 1040 and it had been accepted, but not my state return. Found an error and filed an amended federal 1040X. It was e-filed and accepted but when e-filing my state return it gets rejected. This is because TT has checked "Amended" on my state return even though I had not filed it before. Going into the Form to undo the checkbox, since this is the first and only state return being filed, TT will not allow me to uncheck it. Filing fee is down the drain because TT doesn't appear to have a means of correcting this unless somebody has a solution other than filing by mail.
