I'm wondering if anyone has this number???
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
The number to call is 855-851-2009
Do you know what time zone this number is for?

The IRS phone number hours of operation are based on your local time zone.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
This is a real play by play, I'm impressed but after two rings " due to high call value we are unable to take your call, goodbye." What a joke, the hoops you have to jump through to get answers from the IRS are rediculous. Follow these steps except choose the option to make a payment, a real person answers and just say you chose the wrong option and connect you to injured spouse refund agent
Try right at 7am your time zone.
