In the My Info section of the program you should have selected Montana as your resident state. You should have selected NO when asked if you lived in any other states. And you should have selected NO when asked if you made money in another states (assuming you did not)
The Montana state income tax forms for tax year 2024 are estimated to be available for filing on 01/30/2025
True...were you a part-year resident for 2024??...if so, there is a new Schedule II for Montana where you use some Non-resident / Part-year resident calculations to determine what portion of your 2024 income is actual going to get taxed.
Don't bother going thru the Montana Q&A again, until AFTER 30 January. The whole thing form start to finish.
I see there were significant changes in the Montana forms for 2024, and some of your initial entries may have gone into the OLD 2023 forms...up until all the correct and final 2024 Montana forms are implemented. SO you really must revisit all the Montana Q&A after 30 Jan.
Would you know why today, it still would not be letting me file my montana state return? I've been a resident all year. No other stste income. No special situations. I worked and have kids. 🤷 and I can't get an answer elsewhere.
@Sames0126 The Montana state tax forms availability dates have changed to 02/13/2025 in TurboTax.
Go to this TurboTax website for the federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
Thank you!
