You may want to check and make sure your financial institution or brokerage is a TurboTax 1099 partner. If it is and you are still having issues, please see the FAQ link provided below for assistance:
What if I can't import my 1099?
Company is listed as a partner...Northwestern Mutual Inv Svcs NMIS. (In previous years I see they've cleared through / statements issued by Pershing LLC (which is long longer a TurboTax partner)). I chose this service on the download screen, enter user ID / Password, but the "Continue" Button is not activated??? This is a great turbotax feature, but the product is diminished if I can't use it.
Please see What if I can't import my 1099? and be sure to review the Troubleshooting section for instructions.

@uhansro
I was having this problem - the import function appeared to work and log into Northwestern Mutual successfully, but it would say there was no tax information available. To fix the problem, I had to go into the NWM website and on the right hand side, select "Brokerage & Advisory". Doing that brought me to some legal disclaimers, and then eventually logged me through to the Pershing website. Establishing that connection from the Northwestern Mutual website to the Pershing website seems to have enabled Turbotax to import from the Northwestern Mutual Investment Services LLC partner.
So this appears to have worked. Brokerage & Advisory links to the old website provided by Netxinvestor.com (i.e. Pershing). I found you need to 'navigate' around in that site - I changed the theme from standard to accessible - and somehow this initializes TurboTax for the Northwestern Mutual Svcs NMIS partner account, enabling the "Continue" Button after you enter UID & PW. I am on a Mac O/S; did not have to clear cache etc.. Weird.
As a follow up, if your "Continue" Button is greyed out (disabled), and you're trying to retrieve password from Mac O/S Password Manager / Keychain directly through TurboTax interface, try typing the password into the field directly. There appears to be a TurboTax bug. The field is populated with ***masked*** password, but TT doesn't recognize the entry and doesn't 'enable' the Continue Button.
