" having my BF claim me under HOH"
Well, did you make sure BF didn't do that?
If he went ahead and listed you as a dependent,
that is probably why you are having difficulty with the stimulus payment.
Yes I am positive he did not claim me under HOH. We did our taxes together.
If you did not get the stimulus payment,
your 1040 line 30 should be showing the amount you did not get.
That's called the Rebate Credit.
There's no reason for the IRS to deny you.
In order to be HOH, your BF would have to have a related dependent*. I assume he claimed Malcolm. If you tried to claim Malcolm on your return too, that would prompt a " SSN is incorrect and/or qualifying dependent info does not match" error message.
*Although a girl friend can be a dependent under rare circumstances, she can't be a qualifying person for Head of Household, because she is not related.
The stock notice you got has a list of "possible" situations that caused the stimulus to not be issued ... the last one is the one that applies to your situation ... they say you already got the stimulus and are not eligible for another payment. If you did not get the first 2 stimulus payments then you must initiate a trace of the missing checks ...
How to put a trace on a missing 1st or 2nd Stimulus payment. IRS for Payment Issued but Lost, Stolen, Destroyed or Not Received
See question F3 here, you can expand it to see how to put a trace on it.
If you don't have any Notice 1444 which shows your stimulus, you can create an account on IRS website and then view your status, including the record of stimulus payments paid out to you by the IRS, if any.
Look at the Account transcript... it will show you the stimulus payments sent if any ... https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
