hello, I filed my taxes 01/25 ,federal was accepted the same day. State was accepted 02/07. of 02/15 i noticed on wmr the bars had disappeared. I called the irs and they informed me that i was put on a 45 day hold and that they didn't need any info from me.I received my state refund 02/23.I checked the wmr website again that day and still said the refund is still processing bull crap. I called again on 02/26 to figure out if anything had changed and the operator was extremely rude and mentioned me calling a lot. I asked her if i needed to confirm anything she told me no. 03/09 i got a letter in the mail explaining to me about the further review but instead of 45 days it said 60 days from the late on the letter which was 03/06. I then found out about the tax advocates. I really needed one because I've been having car trouble and all of my daughter's benefits such as ktap, foodstamps, medicaid, etc was discontinued. I called them (tax advocate) on a Wednesday, they told me it would take 5 days to be assigned an advocate. I called that following Monday and was told i got assigned an advocate and they gave me her personal name and number. i called the advocate that Wednesday because id hadn't heard anything i left a message. she called me back the next day 03/22. She informed me to turn in proof of the discontinuance and to get it turned in that day before 4:30(time they closed). She also was so kind to inform me that she would get her supervisor to write a letter of recommendation to get my refund processed and issued ASAP. Friday while i was at work i got a call with my DDD of 03/28. I really recommend everyone to get an advocate. Hope everyone gets their issues resolved.
Did you end up receiving your refund??
@raylynnwineland8 This is a old post from June 2019.There are quite a few letters that go out from the IRS. I am listing some information below on some of them for you. If you have additional questions, please feel free to reply back.
One customer is talking about a identity verification. If you received this letter, after successful verification, it takes about 6 weeks to complete processing.
Tips for Handling Identity Verification Requests From the IRS
See the article below, for information:
IRS understanding your CP05 notice
Another customer is talking about the 45 day review.
Per the IRS:
Why is my return being reviewed?
We select some returns to determine if income, expenses, and credits are being reported accurately. This doesn't mean you made an error or were dishonest.
Understanding Your Letter 4464C
Also, if the IRS needs additional information from you, they will request it in writing. These requests are always by mail - please do not respond to any e-mail requests for information, as these will not be from the IRS.
Unless you receive a request from the IRS for more information, there isn't anything that you need to do during this time period.

@day77heather hey did u ever receive your refund within the 40 days or it took longer
Yes I received my taxes within 30days
Thanks did u have to verify anything ? For the cp05 notice @raylynnwineland8
The first time in 2019 i had to verify my identity and went to the local office with my i.d. and some mail and proved i was who i said because it had been a long time since i claimed taxes.
But this time i was under review and didnt end up having to do anything and in a few weeks i got my taxes. 🙂 . if u have to verify anything they will send you something in the mail, otherwise they're literally just reviewing it and it doesnt take long.
@raylynnwineland8 @So u got your taxes before the cp05 letter was sent or after u received it
I received my taxes AFTER getting the cp05 letter
@raylynnwineland8 one last question sorry to be a pest but u think since my bank rejected my return due to it exceeding my deposit limit it’s under review ? cause when I called the irs the representative asked me a lot of questions beside the basic filing status dob an ss # an address but my parents name an other stuff you think that could’ve been a verification over the phone ?
