I've already paid to file but my returns were rejected. Do I have to pay again and why is an upgrade required?

No, if your tax return was rejected, TurboTax does not charge to make the correction and resubmit.  However, If you are required to make a change that requires additional tax forms that are not offered in the current version, you may have to upgrade to a different version in order to file those forms.
