If your e-filed 2021 federal tax return is being rejected by the IRS for an incorrect 2020 AGI then enter a 0 (zero) for the 2020 AGI and e-file the 2021 federal tax return again.
The last response provided to you is incorrect. You must provide an accurate AGI for 2020 in order for the return to be accepted. It takes into account your drivers license issue date and expiration date and the AGI for 2020 all together in order to validate and accept the return. Placing a "0" in the AGI field will have it reject again as that number will clearly not match the 2020 AGI number. If you in fact did not file for 2020 then you can enter "0" as that will match for a null return - non-filed return for 2020. I suggest that if you did file 2020 that you find that return and input the correct AGI then proceed. The return should then be accepted. At this point, I hope that you have filed an extension or do not owe money or have a refund due - in which case it wont matter when you file. Hope this helps you.
In most cases where the IRS rejects a tax return even though the correct 2020 AGI is entered is because the 2020 tax return that was filed has not yet been processed by the IRS or the IRS processed the 2020 tax return late in 2021 or in 2022 and the 2020 AGI is not in the IRS database.
Go to this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/electronic-filing-pin-request
If your 2020 tax return has not yet been processed, enter $0 (zero dollars) for your prior year adjusted gross income (AGI).
We don't know if the e-file is being rejected because of the 2020 AGI. The OP didn't say that.
@jmb1985211-iclou What is the complete reject message that you are getting, including the code?
Whatever the reason for the reject, If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.
How to mail a return from the Online version
How do I print and mail my return in TurboTax Online?
Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
