My Turbotax 24 can't update the extraction get stuck. Is there a way for me to skip the update.

Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen

Click on Updater Preferences

Click on Ask me before getting updates

I'm not sure the MAC software (you used historically) has had the ability to turn off the update...like the Windows software does.   Not sure why...seems like it should be an easy programming function.

Or are you using Windows software now?  in which case the directions @DoninGA would work.

I'm not a MAC user, but i "think" some MAC users have said they had to shut down their internet access entirely on their computer, before opening the TTX MAC software, so that the attempt to update would be bypassed.

Thank you. I did search chatGPT and found that with Mac the updates are very slow to be extracted and it is reportedly a known issue by Turbotax. Patience ultimately paid off after 15 minutes.
