I was informed by an employee it will take 3-5 business days right now to resolve and to check the status then!
Per the Ohio Department of Taxation:
With income tax fraud and identity theft on the rise, the Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) is committed to safeguarding taxpayer dollars by increasing security measures. The identity verification letter is just one of the tools ODT is using to prevent fraudsters from receiving a refund as a result of identity theft.

That's good to know, thank you! I've never had an issue before and count on getting my state refund first, so 150 days was not good news. Hopefully it resolves itself for all of us quickly.
Just wanted to update that my status changed, my refund will be deposited within 7 days. I hope you have the same update.
As of this morning, mine updated to Direct deposit within 7 days
Update: mine also has been changed to released and will be deposited within 7 days. 😁
Mine has also changed as of this morning! Will be deposited in 7 days. My mom said hers took 6 so I am assuming ours all will be the same!
I am going through the same situation. Submitted yesterday and it was accepted. They immediately said it was under manual review. Today, same thing. Hoping I wake up to good news...
It took about 48 hours for my status to update so hopefully it'll be figured out for you by tomorrow
I filed the 25 my Ohio return was accepted the 30th and now says it's posted and under manual review I have never had this happen. My state tax return wasn't even for very much, it's about the same amount as usual i don't understand. Is anyone else going through this? Help
Happened to me today as well it has happened before and I had to wait for a letter to verify my identity. Once I got the letter and verified my money hit my account like a few days later honestly.
A state can place a return under manual review status for a variety of reasons, but typically it is just to confirm the identity of the filer, as several users have noted.
See here for an example of another discussion involving Oregon returns.
If Ohio has further questions after their review, they may issue a letter. See here for more information.
Give it a day or two and check again. I had the same issue, so did a lot of people, and it updated with a deposit date after 48 hours.
So mine now updated and says I have an offset from 2009?????? How???? 14 years?!?! In 14 years Ohio has let a debt slip by?!? Not 2019… 2009… I am supposed to get better about it… 2009… isn’t there a statute of limitations?
So I spoke to THE NICEST guy at Ohio DOT (Shout Out to DeAndre) and he told me that my offset is from a 2009 Attorney General issue which was from when I had an outstanding medical bill. They are collecting this year since it's the last year they can collect for 2009. He said it is a terrible thing to do but it's out of their hands and if we don't like it we have to call the AG office and complain. My offset was for a small amount and isn't going to take my entire amount. He said that they are sending a letter but I would have my refund BEFORE the letter arrives. He says that the day they process your refund is the day they are sending out payments.
