Itemized doesn't have to do if you were claimed as a dependent. You either took the Standard Deduction or all your actual itemized deductions, things like property tax , medical, state taxes paid, donations, etc. You probably took the Standard Deduction. Look at your 1040 line 12.
The Standard Deduction for an individual for whom an exemption can be claimed on another person's tax return is limited to the greater of:
…..$1,150 or
…..Your earned income for the year + $400 (but not more than 12,950))
It is probably asking about Itemized Deductions is for a state refund you got last year. A State Tax Refund is taxable if you itemized deductions on that prior year's federal return and took a deduction for state income taxes instead of the sale tax. You got a deduction benefit for it so now you have to include it as income. If you took the standard deduction it is not taxable and you don't need to report it.
