When your return is rejected by the IRS, it is as if you never e-filed it or paid TurboTax.
So you can re-open your return, fix what needs to be fixed, and then e-file it as if for the first time.
I get that, but why would I be charged again? Is there a way around not being charged a second time? Per the instructions, it does state "if you have corrected your errors, you can e-file again at no extra cost." What am I doing wrong?
Were you charged already when you filed the first time? I don't think you will be charged until your return is accepted.
If you were already charged, please call TurboTax Customer service. Here is a link: Turbo Tax Customer Service
"Supposedly" one of the charges won't show up in your final CCD bill....Sometimes they both show up in the Temp charge area, but then only one of the charges actually posts as a final charge.
.
.....Again..."Supposedly", according to a few others who have had this situation during previous year's submissions.,,,,but not enough instances of this to know what it's doing this year.
How did you elect to pay? I selected "use tax refund to pay for filing fee" . I think that is the smart thing to do since they can't charge you if your return is not accepted!
OP - let us know how your tax filing went so that we can get closure on your issue.
Few to none of us experienced users here will recommend using the Federal Refund.....except as a last resort.
PAY With a Credit Card !!
Too many (thousands?) of problems occur every year with people not getting the remainder of their refund because it goes thru a 3rd-party bank (and not thru TurboTax)....and somehow gets Lost/never paid/ routed wrong....whatever !!
